Connecticut -- The warmer weather and outrageous gas prices are causing people to trade their four-wheeled vehicles for two wheels but risks come with riding a motorcycle.
Bikers from 10 motorcycle clubs coming together to discuss the best way to prevent accidents.
They decided last Wednesday at a rider’s memorial service that they should come together. The need for the meeting intensified Wednesday night when another rider was killed.
Two bikers died in a crash over the weekend along Interstate 91 in Rocky Hill and a man was hurt in yet another accident in Meriden Thursday morning. One of the problems, motorcyclists said, is that inexperienced motorcyclists can be reckless and lack training. Using common sense and learning to master a motorcycle are key before hitting the road.
Gov. M. Jodi Rell is pushing for a helmet law in Connecticut, saying it's one way to save lives.
The president of Capitol City Ryders, the club that organized the meeting, said wearing helmets might save lives but it will not prevent the accidents.
